Making you look good since 2010

Read on to find out about my journey as a stylist and business owner.

I’ve been a stylist since 2010

I attended Paul Mitchell the School of Nashville and graduated with honors, and then went on to learn under a master stylist at one of the most successful salon businesses in Nashville.

While working at each of their locations, I learned:

  • art of the consultation, learning to dial in vision and scope at the beginning of the service

  • stay cool under pressure, working directly with high end clientele in a fast paced environment

  • added value, the crucial importance of customer experience in good business strategy

I also developed a creative team, facilitated workshops, and trained new hires on best practices.

I’ve been a business owner since 2015

I started over from scratch in January of 2015. When I was ready to open my business, I had to do so without contacting any of my former clients (due to a non-compete) but quickly built a thriving business by operating under 3 main principles:

  • 1:1 Service: In the beauty industry, it's common for stylists to "double book," meaning they work on multiple clients at once. However, in my salon, I made it a rule to only work on one client at a time. This way, I aimed to provide better customer service and make our clients feel valued.

  • Education: Hair styling is demanding work, like all creative jobs, can easily lead to burnout. I believe that the cure for burnout and so I allocated funds each year to make sure I could learn from stylists all over the country and bring back what I knew to stay up to date on trends and maintain my passionate approach.

  • Empathy: In the beauty industry, it's simple to make any design look great by using all the tools and techniques that professionals have. But, in my opinion, a design is only good if it's easy to use. I always took time to listen to the client and teach them how to use what they already had to get better results every day.
